Hawkes Learning’s annual summit hosts record-level attendance as educators gather to discuss critical issues.
Charleston, S.C. — March 23, 2021 — On March 18th-19th, 2021, Hawkes Learning, a higher education technology & publishing company, hosted over 1,300 higher education faculty & staff nationwide for the free virtual Innovative Educators Summit; this year’s attendance was the highest it’s ever been, with a 250% increase in registrations and a 400% increase in live attendance. There to address this record-level crowd were 50+ industry professionals and members of U.S.-based higher education institutions including New Hampshire Poet Laureate Dr. Alexandria Peary and the co-creators of the PsychSessions Podcast, Garth Neufeld & Dr. Eric Landrum; keynotes were delivered by President of Brain Research and Instruction Dr. Janet N. Zadina, Quantum Leap Therapy owner Maryellen Dance, LMHC, and syndicated broadcaster Nelson Lauver.
This free summit provided an opportunity for instructors across the country to network, share best practices, and connect with leaders at the forefront of educational initiatives. Presentations covered a wide range of topics addressing the challenges students & educators have faced in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic including stress management, student engagement in virtual settings, and integrity in online testing; additionally, discipline-specific breakouts were available for economics, English language & composition, psychology, mathematics, and statistics. Attendees also enjoyed multiple giveaways, evening & morning yoga sessions, team trivia, and round table discussion panels on topics relevant to today’s educators.
