Reston, VA – Do you know what drones and endangered Bumble Bees have in common?
Well, it might be a lot more than you think. Studying the aerodynamics of these buzzing creatures allows us to understand the size, weight, and processing capabilities of aerial robotic drone systems. It is this unique relationship that has inspired the 2019 Teachers Take Flight Workshop; an educational program from Kashmir World Foundation (KwF).
KwF, a nonprofit organization based in Great Falls, VA, is dedicated to protecting endangered species using custom drones embedded with artificial intelligence. Each year, KwF actively organizes Teachers Take Flight, Fly for Conservation, and DaVinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshops worldwide, which emphasize the role of education in utilizing autonomous drones with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for conservation, environmental, and humanitarian applications.
The Teachers Take Flight Workshop 2019 is taking place at 11710 Plaza America Drive in Reston, Virginia from August 5 - 8. Project-based learning through this workshop helps students get hands-on critical thinking and problem solving experience. KwF Drone Engineers will prepare educators on how to customize drones with variety of sensors integrated with artificial intelligence for real-world applications. KwF will empower educators by preparing them for a changing workforce, and teach them to integrate agile and dynamic product development for 21st century graduates.
The Teachers Flight Workshop has been organized annually since 2016, with the mission to provide educators with the opportunity to build, program, and operate drones. Educators also create a drone-based curriculum that puts them at the forefront of artificial intelligence and small Unmanned Aerial System innovative education. The workshop supports open collaboration on curriculum and mission-focused research into drone applications through an expanded network of educators and conservationists across the world.
The Teachers Flight Workshop is a great opportunity for teachers and educators to gain and apply cutting-edge technological knowledge to real-world applications. If you are interested in learning more about this initiative, or you would like to attend the event, you can register on the KwF website: https://www.kashmirworldfoundation.org/teach.
