With many campuses navigating the uncertainty of what Fall 2020 will look like, university leadership is turning to Symplicity Corporation, the global leader in student employability, to arm students and employers with a modern, fully virtual platform for students to find opportunities and for universities to continue the career readiness experience—whether a campus is open, hybrid, or fully online.
Symplicity announced today its new Virtual Career Fair offering, complete with universal video capability and analytics—available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic. Symplicity’s new Virtual Career Fair offering is available to all universities and colleges everywhere—even if the university is not a current Symplicity partner.
For over 20 years, Symplicity has been the global leader in student employability solutions for students and recent college graduates, having continuously adapted to serve its clients. With the launch of this offering, Symplicity is once again ensuring that career services professionals, employers, and students are provided with the best solutions to adapt to this new virtual world with universal video capability, unlimited registration, premium post-event analytics, and more ways for students and employers to build meaningful interactions.
With on-campus recruiting plans halted for Fall 2020, Symplicity surveyed its student, employer and career center users in the Spring of 2020 to determine what mattered most in a virtual end-to-end career preparation and fair experience.
Symplicity survey data showed 70% of Symplicity university partners used Zoom or planned to use Zoom for virtual events, while smaller percentages surveyed used other video platforms like Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and other video conferencing platforms. With accessibility and usability at the forefront our its new offering, Symplicity’s first priority was to build a solution that was fully compatible with all major video meeting providers to ensure employers, students, and institutions could use the video tools they prefer.
For students, having meaningful conversations with employers via video chat was most important. 94% of students reported they would engage in a virtual fair and 61% sought one-on-one interactions with employers. Similarly, 69% of employers surveyed sought out one-on-one and group interactions with students via video chat.
Symplicity’s complete Virtual Career Fair solution enables students to:
- Easily share resumes and other profile data with employers
- Engage in one-on-one interactions with representatives
- Attend group video chats to learn more about companies
- Take notes and access employer information for easy follow up
Symplicity’s Virtual Career Fair also allows career center staff to see which students have talked to which employers, analyze all interactions, and run reports to assess the success of their fairs. In addition, Symplicity provides unmatched global 24/7 support to its clients, along with continuous training sessions with our support team.
Universities like Elon University are already seeing the success of Symplicity’s support in virtual recruiting events. “We were already fully maximizing Symplicity® CSM™ before COVID-19 hit, but what I have really appreciated is the training webinars that the Symplicity support staff has put on. It was clear that Symplicity anticipated the needs and questions of all career services staff because these webinars discussed how to best utilize features within the system and tailor their use for a completely virtual environment,” says Kristin Walker, Associate Director of Employer Experience and Technology at Elon University.
“At Symplicity we have always adapted to ensure that students and university staff are fully supported to meet the challenges of the day,” says President and CEO of Symplicity Matthew Small. “Yet, our mission to provide expanded access to relevant and meaningful opportunities is more important than ever before. Our new Virtual Career Fair solution ensures that students can connect virtually with employers who normally would visit campuses as well as smaller or more distant companies who might otherwise lack the resources to participate.”
