Online Education Services (OES) is an Australian based company that provides online program management and tailored education solutions to universities. They create tailored education solutions to improve experiences and outcomes for students and professional learners.
The recent case study conducted by OES shared in this release, highlights OES’s findings that students who engaged with their university partner’s optional Yellowdig Communities have pass and retention rates that are higher than non-engaged students.
The case study elaborates on the nature of the students’ use of Yellowdig Engage, explaining how students build real relationships, ease their fears, and gain a sense of belonging, which is critical for retaining students.
Using this knowledge, OES developed a Student Engagement Tool that identifies students at risk of dropping out. It uses critical engagement metrics and behavioural indicators, including Yellowdig community participation.
OES’s university partner found a 9% increase in pass rates and a 7% increase in students progressing into their next study period, amongst the high-risk students using this Student Engagement Tool.
OES’s partner delivers online learning for students, most of whom are mature age and studying part-time.
Summary:
- Students observed in this study used Yellowdig Engage to build interpersonal connections that eased their anxieties around their studies, created a sense of community, and set them up for academic success.
