Bergmeyer, the award-winning Design Collaborative based in Boston and Los Angeles, in partnership with The Hip Hop Architecture Camp (The HHAC), announced Germantown, TN High School Senior Jordan Nance as this year’s recipient of its inaugural Hip Hop Architecture Camp x Bergmeyer Scholarship and Internship Program. Nance will receive a $1500 scholarship toward his academic studies at UTK and a week-long paid internship this summer at Bergmeyer’s Boston office.
“It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Jordan Nance from Memphis, Tennessee, as the winner of the first Bergmeyer/Hip Hop Architecture Camp scholarship!” said Mike Davis, Bergmeyer’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, “We look forward to welcoming Jordan into our design collaborative this Summer.”
This is the first-ever partnership program between Bergmeyer and the HHAC, which strategically extends support past the financial opportunity by offering a paid internship for students to be hands-on in learning and developing their skills in architecture, urban planning, and design industries. Equipping students from underrepresented populations with real-world experience working in a professional setting is a critical component to Bergmeyer’s mission to further equity, diversity, and inclusion through actionable efforts in the architecture and design industries.
“This collaboration elevates The Hip Hop Architecture Camp mission of introducing underrepresented youth to architecture. I appreciate Bergmeyer for going above and beyond an introduction to the field by offering a paid internship and scholarship,” said Mike Ford, Founder of the Hip Hop Architecture Camp.
