Mary Baldwin University (MBU) has relaunched its online programs with a renewed focus on student success, achieving a 40% year-over-year increase in enrollment through a partnership with Human Capital Education (HCE). The collaboration supports MBU’s mission to expand access to transformative education and meet urgent workforce needs in fields such as business, health sciences, and education.
Putting Students First
The partnership modernizes how MBU connects with and supports online learners, streamlining the process from inquiry to graduation. By integrating new technology and data tools, the university can deliver faster, more personalized communication, improve support services, and ensure students have a seamless experience while keeping institutional oversight at the center.
“Mary Baldwin University is dedicated to expanding access to transformative education,” said Todd Telemeco, president of Mary Baldwin University. “Partnering with Human Capital Education has helped us reach more students and strengthen programs in areas where the need is greatest.”
Strong Results in the First Year
The relaunch of MBU’s online programs through HCE’s Education Process as a Service (EPaaS) model and Growth Services has already produced measurable outcomes. Enrollment across online programs grew 40% in the first year of the collaboration, demonstrating the effectiveness of combining MBU’s mission-driven education with HCE’s expertise in technology and student engagement.
“It was important to find a partner who understood our values and could accelerate the growth already underway at the university,” said Will Webb, dean of professional studies and chief growth officer at MBU. “These results show how we can expand opportunities for students while keeping their experience and success at the center.”
About the Partnership
Human Capital Education’s EPaaS platform integrates with MBU’s systems to optimize marketing strategies through real-time data, automate key processes that guide the student journey, and help the university scale enrollment sustainably. The approach allows MBU to control costs while enhancing student support and engagement.
“Mary Baldwin University is demonstrating the power of innovation in higher education,” said Justin McMorrow, CEO of Human Capital Education. “By combining technology, data, and a mission-driven approach, we’re helping MBU deliver meaningful student experiences and sustainable growth.”
