ForteNext today announced the general availability of Giving Cloud, a Salesforce-powered online giving and commerce storefront built for institutions with complex governance, security and compliance requirements. The accelerator moves from kickoff to go-live in three weeks and unifies alumni giving, merchandise sales and event registration in a single branded experience.
Universities lose donations every year to friction rather than to donor intent. Advancement teams typically run a donation portal, a merchandise store and an event registration system as three disconnected products, each with its own checkout, its own data and its own brand treatment. The result is a fragmented donor experience and fundraising data that never fully reconciles.
Giving Cloud consolidates all three. Donors browse funds using the same filtering, refinement and search patterns they already know from retail commerce, reach a fund through header navigation, a featured carousel or a gifting widget embedded in an article page, and add donations, regalia, merchandise and event registrations to one cart. Checkout adapts to the contents of that cart: shipping and tax appear only when physical goods are present. Every step triggers the appropriate configurable transactional email, from gift receipts to recurring payment reminders.
The platform supports one-time and recurring gifts, flexible amounts, donor recognition through campaign leaderboards, and the option to give anonymously. Crowdfunding-style campaigns display visible progress toward a goal. Salesforce Einstein surfaces related funds, products and events throughout the journey, prompting additional giving at the point of highest intent. A self-service account hub holds every gift, order and registration a constituent has ever made, alongside recurring gift management, saved payment methods and digital certificates, without a call to the advancement office.
"The technical differentiator is that Giving Cloud is not a skinned SaaS product sitting alongside Salesforce. It runs on Salesforce with direct access to Salesforce objects, which means no middleware, no synchronization lag, and a single source of truth for advancement data from day one." - Alex Kolesnichenko, Chief Technology Officer, ForteNext
Giving Cloud is template-based and fully brandable, so an institution's colors, typography and imagery define the experience rather than a generic vendor skin. Catalog, users, inventory, pricing and promotions are administered through the standard Salesforce Commerce admin UI. Order management, including cancellations, returns and refunds, is handled through Salesforce Order Management, giving administrators full post-sale visibility.
PCI, GDPR and CCPA controls are built into the platform, reducing the compliance work institutions carry at launch. Integrations include Avalara or a configurable rate table for tax, UPS and FedEx or a configurable rate table for live shipping calculations, Google Places for address validation, and Stripe or Authorize.net for payments with credit card tokenization.
Deployment follows a fixed three-week path: branding, and endpoint configuration in weeks one and two; staged launch, demonstration, team training and documentation from week three. ForteNext's managed services team supports additional functionality and ongoing maintenance after go-live.
Giving Cloud is designed to expand without replatforming. Planned additions include AI-powered use cases and extended event ticketing, delivered on the institution's timeline rather than a vendor release cycle.
"Universities do not lose donations because alumni stopped caring. They lose them because giving sits in one system, merchandise in another and events in a third, and donors feel every seam. Giving Cloud closes those seams, which means advancement teams spend their time building relationships rather than reconciling platforms." - Mikael Carlsson, Chief Executive Officer, Forte Group
