Pathify, higher education’s only Campus Experience Platform (CXP) provider, today introduced its next generation Pathify AI Agent, a significant evolution of the company’s AI Chatbot. The expanded AI Agent moves beyond answering questions to help students, faculty and staff take action across campus systems, while giving institutions greater control over how AI agents are built, connected and governed.
“Higher education has progressed from whether to use AI to how to deploy it responsibly and effectively across the institution,” said Chase Williams, CEO and co-founder of Pathify. “Institutions need AI that understands their unique environment, works across existing systems and helps people accomplish something — not simply find another webpage. They also need the governance and control to manage AI responsibly at scale.”
Grounded in each institution’s own data and content, the Pathify AI Agent understands campus-specific terminology and provides source attribution for its responses. New agent actions allow users to complete tasks directly within a conversation, using human-confirmed workflows for actions where accuracy is critical. Embedded agent orchestration identifies user intent and routes conversations to the appropriate specialized agent — whether Pathify-native or third-party — while carrying context across the interaction.
Pathify’s new AI Agent includes an Agent Studio with a no-code environment for institutions to build, manage and test multiple specialized agents, which prioritize domain-specific knowledge bases, integrations and identity. Institutions connect existing data, content and agents, while enterprise governance capabilities including SSO, role-based access controls, agent validation and approval processes provide centralized institutional oversight.
In 2027, the AI Agent will deliver omnichannel support across web, mobile, SMS, and messaging apps while surfacing campus-wide knowledge gaps and seamlessly routing complex issues to human staff. Security, compliance and accessibility capabilities include SOC 2 security, FERPA and GDPR compliance and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility. The institution retains ownership of conversation data, and the data is not used by the model provider for training.
Pathify's Campus Experience Platform (CXP) empowers institutions to meet rapidly rising consumer expectations by unifying disparate legacy systems into a single AI-driven interface, transforming the fragmented higher education journey into a seamless, lifecycle-wide experience that drives student success, enrollment and operational efficiency. By making it easy to find information, automate routine tasks and deliver intelligent nudges, the CXP dramatically reduces the support burden on staff while delivering the consumer-grade experience students demand with the price of admission. Pathify powers more than 300 institutions globally, helping millions of students navigate and engage with their campus experience while enabling institutions to rebuild trust, improve enrollment and drive student success.
