Edvisor is now a technology partner of OpenStax, the nonprofit educational initiative of Rice University, bringing OpenStax’s widely trusted, openly licensed textbooks into the Edvisor platform. For faculty, the partnership means they can utilize trusted content and offer AI-resilient oral style assessments that test for authentic learning.
Edvisor allows higher-ed instructors to transform course materials into interactive coursepacks. The AI-native learning and teaching ecosystem combines readings with multimedia, AI-resilient assessments, and AI-supported learning experiences. With access to OpenStax content, instructors can now use peer-reviewed open educational resources (OERs) as the foundation for courses built and delivered through Edvisor.
The partnership brings OpenStax’s free, peer-reviewed, openly licensed textbooks together with Edvisor’s technology for building affordable, accessible, and AI-resilient course experiences.

For faculty, the partnership provides greater flexibility. They can adopt a OpenStax textbook content together with their own materials while delivering the experience through Edvisor's customizable digital coursepack that is multi-modal and interactive.

OpenStax textbooks are free to adopt and free for students to access online. For colleges and universities using OpenStax in large introductory courses, Edvisor is offering a free first semester of its platform, then helping institutions pursue grants and other funding to support continued use. This ensures students continue to pay nothing out of pocket for course materials.
“We believe, in 2026, no student should be paying $120 for course materials. It should be baked into the cost of tuition,” argues Mahmood.
