- Added to the names announced in May, the new names bring the total institutions under investigation to 67.
Dive Insight:
Unlike the list announced in May, the Department of Education apparently didn’t issue a press release for the new additions. The department doesn’t say what each school is under investigation for, but we do know that the new names on the list were for cases opened on or after May 5, and that some of the investigations were initiated because of complaints made to the department while others began after compliance reviews. Most of the new schools on the list are declining to say what their case involves, but Morgan State University was forthright: It’s being investigated for a complaint filed June 26th for an on-campus sexual assault in February, which was reported in March and has been referred to the Baltimore City Police Department.
