Dive Brief:
- AdmitHub, provider of college admissions application services, has launched a free online forum where students and parents can have their questions answered by admissions experts.
- The goal of the new service, AboutAdmissions, is to help level the playing field for students from families who can’t afford the private admissions consultants that wealthy families often hire for $1,000 and up, according to TechCrunch.
- For the questions posted on AboutAdmissions, former and current officials of Harvard University, Brown University, Princeton University, Stanford University, Bowdoin College, Bates College, Syracuse University, Providence, Wellesley College, Vassar College and other schools are answering.
Dive Insight:

One of the service’s co-founders, Kirk Daulerio, formerly worked as an admissions officer for Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania and Bowdoin, and for the Common Application. AdmitHub plans services for law, business, medical and professional schools in 2015.
