Football came up in the interview. Some members were concerned that Criser might show bias toward his alma mater, the University of Florida. (His father was also president of that school.) An interviewer jokingly asked whether he would be willing to wear Florida State's colors when the team plays in a championship. Criser answered that he would work with all schools, but acknowledged he is unlikely to wear Florida State's colors when it goes up against University of Florida this month.
