- Trustees at Michigan's West Shore Community College placed President Charles Dillon on paid administrative leave following his arrest last week on drunk driving charges.
- The trustees have also ordered Dillon to complete a residential alcohol treatment plan, complete a fitness-for-duty exam, allow his medical records and progress notes to be released to the trustees, and have his college automobile returned to campus.
- Dillon apologized to the college, the board, colleagues, friends and family at a trustees meeting on Monday.

While trustees spoke in support of Dillon at their meeting Monday, his fate with the college isn't clear. The trustees plan to appoint an interim president for the college at their next meeting, on Aug. 18. Dillon is due to be arraigned within a week, MasonCountyPress.com reported. A planned meeting between Board Chairman James Jensen and faculty representatives set for Tuesday has been delayed.
