Dive Insight:
EdCast, a startup in the Stanford StartX accelerator, clearly isn't resting on its laurels after getting off to a good start in 2014. CEO and founder Karl Mehta has proposed the concept of the multiversity as key to facilitating university collaboration and fending off MOOC disruption, and his company's "Knowledge Platforms" give institutions a brandable environment for online learning content like MOOCs. A partnership made in October with the Open Education Constortium significantly expanded its partner institutions, and it has also already launched a food-related online learning portal with Michigan State.
With Cerego's personalized learning expertise, EdCast's products and services will likely become that much more valuable, and worth keeping an eye on as 2015 progresses.
