Editor's note: We're looking for submissions to the President Speaks column for 2020. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested in writing one.
A dozen college presidents and chancellors contributed to our President Speaks column last year, covering just as many different topics.
The list was long and varied: improving students' mental health, implementing an academic redesign, elevating women in higher education, embracing online learning and forming transfer pathways with other institutions — just to name a few.
These leaders, who represent a range of institution types and sizes, shared how their campuses are addressing these challenges. But many of the issues they identify are perennial, and we expect colleges and universities will continue to grapple with them in 2020.
Below, we've rounded up our President Speaks columns from 2019. Whether you're looking for guidance for your own campus or want an idea of what was on the minds of college presidents last year, read on.
