Dive Insight:
In each of the three years studied by the research center, nearly 75% of all students who moved had at least one enrollment at a two-year public institution. Of students who attended more than one institution in 2012-13, nearly 40% moved between two-year public institutions and four-year public institutions, in either direction. The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center breakdown of the mobility rates also shows that for each year studied, students who were age 20 or younger had the highest mobility rates, followed by students who were 21 to 24 years old.
