Dive Insight:
According to Insider Higher Ed, the drop for community colleges and for-profits was less than in previous periods measured by the National Student Clearinghouse. And the economy is probably to blame for the community college drop, with adult students accounting for most of the decline at two-year schools. The clearinghouse covers 96% of U.S. enrollments, and its national enrollment estimates are published every six months.
