It is no secret that industry and markets are demanding more students enter STEM fields to generate higher levels of competitiveness in these fields for the nation. But with that demand, more industries are recognizing the value of integrating liberal arts within technical and applied science training for elements like marketing, communication and leadership.
It is up to academic leaders to determine ways in which general education can be modified to account for the blending of arts and sciences, and the integration of entrepreneurship, to ensure that graduates are best prepared for the changing look of the labor force.
