Three years after President Barack Obama gave the graduation commencement speech at the University of Notre Dame, the school has opted to sue his administration over contraception requirements.
Notre Dame is now the largest of seven religious colleges that have filed suit over the president's health reform law, according to a report on Yahoo! News. The disagreement stems from the law's mandate that employers' insurance plans must provide contraception without a copay.
The president attempted to alleviate early concerns in Feburary by announcing that religious schools and hospitals would not have to offer contraception themselves if insurance companies dealt with women directly. Notre Dame objected to this solution, since the school is self-insured.
