Dive Insight:
The Rhodes Trust’s signature scholarship program will offer 32 students from the United States a chance to study at Oxford, along with about 50 scholars from throughout much of the rest of the world. Until now, students from mainland China could not apply. That is not to say Chinese citizens do not get degrees from Oxford, though. According to the university, United States citizens make up the largest group of international students on campus, but those from China rank second. Inviting Chinese scholars into the Rhodes community not only recognizes that, but will stretch the reach of the prestigious program.
